I am Excited for Christmas

Hey family!

Pues, todo esta bien calidad aqui.  It's weird to think that it's almost Christmas!  Not once did it get below 80 degrees in our house this week.  It's been frying hot.  I don't understand how it can be so hot during the month of December.  But, oh well.  The area is great and the people are awesome.  Let's see if I can think of a quick overview of what happened this week.

We started out the week with an amazing family home evening with one of the ward families.  The father invited his nonmember parents to come and watch Joy to the World with us and have a short discussion.  Well, it turned into a long discussion and they loved it.  It was also really nice having their family there to help us teach and testify.  Well, we had 3 appointments with them in total this week and they came to church yesterday.  We challenged them to baptism in the last appointment of the week and they really were thinking about it.  More than anything they don't want to make the decision and then mess up.  We tried really hard to explain to them that baptism is just the beginning and that they'll always have repentance.  We had the wife say a prayer in our lesson just to ask if they should be baptized and the Spirit was so strong.  It was so amazing!  They told my companion on Sunday in church that they feel like they got an answer to that prayer.  I'm hoping that it was yes.  We have a lesson with them on Wednesday and really feel like they will accept a baptismal date.  It was really refreshing to find them.  Their names are Toni and Bertha.

Marcelo didn't go to church this Sunday so his baptismal date fell again.  We are going to really have to evaluate if he still wants to be baptized.  We want to make sure that he isn't going to go inactive right after his baptism.  Plus, he has to get to church in order to be baptized.  We have also had trouble finding him at home and he is never there when we put appointments with him.  We'll see what happens.

Besides them we are really just trying to work with references from the members.

The time is flying!  Well, I got to go.  There was a lot to have to figure out with the call home and stuff.  Have a great week and a great Christmas!  Talk to you in 6 days!

Love,
Elder Lloyd
